NC 96 CW_ARCHITECTURAL

10 Technical & commercial information NC 96 CW Technical specofocation 2018/01 Technical specifications All aluminum profiles are extruded and thermally broken by means of two continuous polyamide bars 18 mm (0.708 in.) wide for frames and one single polyamide bar of 14.8 mm wide (0.583 in.)for sashes.Aluminum alloy is 6063-T5 in accordance with Aluminum Association standards.METRA NC 96 CW has an interior drainage system based on the rain-screen design-technique. The thermal barrier consists of two continuous polyamides 6.6 with 25%glass fiber content, depth of 18 mm (0.708 in.) and one continuous polyamide 6.6 with 25 %glass fiber content, depth of 14.8 mm (0.583 in.) as per standard ASTM D 5630.Polyamide bar has a minimum tensile modulus of 652,500 psi, as per stan- dard ASTM D 638. Polyamide-bars and aluminum extrusions are attached via continuous mechanical crimping. Complete assembly shall have minimal shear strength of 800 lbs on a 101.6 mm (4.000 in.) long sample as per AAMA TIR-A8-04. Prior to the crimping both aluminum profiles have to be properly knurled.Frame is 96 mm (3.750 in.) in depth. Sash 87.5 mm (3.45 in.) in depth. All hardware components are specifically de- signed for this product and approved by the system designer. Performance As specified in AAMA / WDMA / CSA 101/I.S.2/A440-05 AAMA WDMA-CSA Project out with sash NC 70054 - AP-C 80 Project out with sash NC 70037 - AP-AW 80 Drainage and ventilation Metra NC 96 CW incorporates open joint design with weep-holes cut in the screen gasket that allows water drainage. The polyamide bars have suitable geometrical shape to avoid water-stagnation. Typology Project out awning window Casement window Hardware Friction arms are fabricated from stainless - steel material. Hinge-installation does not require machining of profiles. Lock is multipoint type, adjustable, and corrosion-resistant. The lock includes adjustable rolling pins installed into an Eurobar extrusion , corner transmissions and bi-directional mechanism that center the sash during the locking process. Assembly accessories The joinery between horizontal and vertical profiles must fit perfectly and alignment for both sides, internal and external, should be provided. Corner-joint will be assembled using extruded or die-cast aluminum corner-cleats by plugging-crimping or crimping procedure. The joinery bet- ween horizontal and vertical profiles must be carefully sealed before final assembly. The glazing method have to be done using a structural bond between glass and sash and provide a zero sight line effect . Gaskets All gaskets are made of EPDM. The main gasket is to form a continuous and tight seal. Pre-formed vulcanized corners are utilizationd. Central- gasket joints are cut at a 90 degree-angle and bonded to the vulcanized corners. A one-piece vulcanized main gasket can be utilizationd as an alternative to the above solution. Surface finishing Aluminum profiles will be finished by anodizing or painting process. 72 - INFORMATION - 009
